The Icelandair Travel Fund for Special Children is a combined effort by Icelandair and its passengers to help chronically ill and disadvantaged children realise their dream journeys.
The main objective of the Icelandair Special Children Travel fund is to help children suffering from long-term illness or other difficult circumstances to see something of the world. We estimate each year the Icelandair Travel Fund will enable 200 people every year, from all over the world, to go on their "dream journey".Said Sigurdur Helgason, former President and CEO of Icelandair: "Whether it is Disney World Florida or the Tivoli in Copenhagen, these trips give families memories that are cherished.
This Fund gives us at Icelandair and our customers a chance to make a difference in these children's lives. It is important that the whole family is able to travel together and that all expenses are covered by the Icelandair Travel Fund."

A great way for you to spend your Saga Points is to use them to shop on board. All products from the Saga Shop Collection and Saga Kitchen are available for Points, and we have some exclusive offers lined up for you as well.
Just make sure you have enough Saga Points and your Saga Card with you on your next flight with Icelandair.
You can easily explore the Saga Shop Collection at our Saga Shop website and order items for delivery on board. If you do not have a Saga Card you can apply for a new one on your Saga Club account, you can log in here on the page in the right hand corner.
Using Saga Points is as easy as 1, 2, 3:
- Inform the cabin crew that you wish to use Saga Points for your purchase.
- Hand your Saga Card and Credit Card or Debit Card (in case Points status is not sufficient) to the cabin crew.
- Ensure you have enough Points for the whole transaction otherwise your credit card is charged.
Note: Keep in mind that refunds or change of payment method after the flight is not possible.
When flying with Icelandair, Icelandair Saga Club members have the option of using their Saga Points to upgrade their seat and service from Economy Flex to Saga Premium. Please note that fare conditions and points earned remain unchanged. Three steps to an easy Saga Points upgrade:
- Book your Economy Flex flight.
- Make sure you have enough Saga Points for an upgrade.
- Call the Icelandair Service Center and request a Saga Points upgrade.

Please be aware of the following:
- Upgrades are subject to availability.
- Upgrades cannot be arranged at check-in.
- Award tickets cannot be upgraded using Saga Points.
- Upgrades cannot be converted back to Points.
- There is no child discount for a class upgrade.
- A booking fee of ISK 3,600 is charged per passenger.
More space can make a big difference, and that's why More Legroom seats are available for purchase onboard for Saga Points.
Just make sure that you have enough Points on your Saga Club account.

Using Saga Points is easy
- Inform the Cabin Crew that you wish to use Saga Points.
- Hand your Saga Card and your payment card (in case points status is not sufficient) to Cabin Crew.
Please keep in mind that members do not earn Saga Points when paying for More Legroom seats with Points and seats cannot be purchased for Points prior to travel.
Points and payment is now available when booking your flight with Air Iceland Connect. Saga Club members can book flights with Points and payment in a new booking engine.
With Points and payment members can used their Saga Points as a payments towards all fares to every destination that Air Iceland Connect offers. Members can pay for their flight fare in whole, as well as taxes and fees, with their Points. Members can also use a combination of Points and other form of payments. Members also earn Points while booking for Points.
This is that simple:
- Choose a destination and date in the Air Iceland Connect booking engine
- Choose a fare
- Log in on the right hand side under "Your trip" with your Saga Club number and password
- Choose the Points amount you would like to use with the Points slider or by writing into the box.
Please note that fares for children that are travelling alone cannot be booked online and therefore is Points and payment not available for those bookings.

Saga Club members can book an Award flight on Alaska Airlines using their Saga Points. Alaska Mileage Plan members can as well use their miles for an Award flight on Icelandair. They book such an Award flight on Alaska Airlines web page or via their member service.
